The Jackson County Sheriff’s office made an arrest on Sunday, in the murder of 20 year-old Timothy Daniel Mullican of Hytop.

Mullican was found on County Road 107 in Skyline. According to Sheriff Chuck Phillips, around noon on Sunday, July 9, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a man who had pulled into a yard on County Road 107. The victim exited his vehicle and fell in the yard.
According to the caller, the victim had a lot of blood on him. Skyline First Responders responded to the call and the victim was transported to Highlands Medical Center. Phillips stated that the victim had a knife wound to  his throat. Phillips stated that the incident happened close to the residence.
“Mullican was able to drive a couple hundred yards in an attempt to get assistance,” Phillips said.  “He was unable to speak.”
Hank Thomas Blizzard, age 18, has been arrested  and charged with the murder of Mullican. As of press Blizzard remained in the Jackson County Jail with bond set at $500,000.
  Phillips stated that the two knew of each other. However, the motive, what led investigators to the conclusion that the suspect was responsible, and the victim and defendant’s connection, are not being released at this time.
Phillips stated there were actually three scenes. These included where the victim drove, where Blizzard was found and where the incident occurred.         Blizzard has no record of prior criminal incidents.
