Emmie Leona O’Shields, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 21, 2019.

Leona was born and raised in Fyffe but lived much of her life in Rossville, Ga. She was laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Clarence on their 78th wedding anniversary, August 22, 2019 at Warren’s Graveyard in Rainsville. Rev. Paul Little officiated.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Johnny) Spangler; granddaughter, Melissa (Allen) Palmer; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years and love of her life, Clarence O’Shields; parents, Carter and Buena Johnson; brothers, Wilbur Johnson, Junior Johnson, Thea Johnson, Norman Johnson, Reed Johnson, Ward Johnson; sisters, Marie Roach, Freddie Jean Johnson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Memory Care Unit. You all loved and petted on Mom, aka. Granny, Tweety Bird, Little Bit, Princess, LeLe, Hot Rod, Miss Leona, as your own, and she loved each of you dearly. We will cherish the stories shared by the staff, visitors and residents about Mom. She loved all of you, and Mama didn’t just love anybody.
