James Cordell Curtin, age 85 of Grant, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from the St. William Catholic Church of Guntersville. The Mass was conducted by Father Tim Pfander. Graveside services were held from the Free Home Cemetery.
Mr. Curtin is survived by his wife, Nancy Curtin; sons, Michael A. (Cherie) Curtin, James M. Curtin; daughters, Lisa A. (E. Ray) Crawford, Theresa L. (Roger) Gabehart, Denise L. Auer, Amy E. (Rick) Junnier; daughter-in-law, Linda Curtin; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Claire Ellen Gilday.
Mr. Curtin was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Blanche Curtin; son, Joseph F. Curtin; and brothers, Farley Curtin and Murray Curtin.
An avid train collector, reader and lover of history, he was a 1955 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He also served as Captain in the Army Reserves. Mr. Curtin was an active member of St. William Catholic Church, serving on the Pearl Life Committee, as well as being a member of Knights of Columbus.
