The Town of Skyline will host its annual Skyline Day celebration from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Skyline High School. The celebration will feature a car show, entertainment, Kona Ice, inflatables and a homemade ice cream competition. To enter, contact town hall at 256.587.3335. Concessions will be sold. The Rock Store will be open. Jacob’s Well will be accepting donations for their food pantry, and there will be a Backpack Buddies Fundraiser. Bring a chair and enjoy the day with your neighbors.
•The 18th Flag Retirement Ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Everyone is invited to help Master of Ceremony Matthew Hodges, Boy Scout Troop 18, American Legion Post 30, VFW Post 6073, Scottsboro Fire Dept. and Special Guest Speaker Colonel (ret) Scott Gedling show patriotism for our great country and the flag we wave. All Boy Scout Troops, Cub Packs, Girl Scouts, Military and the public are invited. For more info, or if you have a soiled or damaged American flag, call Gordon at 256-575-9012.
