The Greater Jackson County Chamber of Commerce   has scheduled their annual trip to Montgomery for March 20-21, 2018.

A briefing with several state officials is planned as well as meetings with Senator Steve Livingston, Representative Tommy Hanes, Representative Richie Whorton and others.
“The health of any economy is dependent upon the soundness and vitality of its business community,” said Allen Keller, Chairman of the Board. “It is an extremely important function of any governmental body to do everything logical and reasonable to enable its business community to function as smoothly and effectively as is possible. However, in return, it is the responsibility of the business community to make governmental officials aware of the various ways in which government can assist the creation and flow of business activities and opportunities. The primary function of  The Greater Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is to promote the creation and conduct of business in Jackson County. An important part of the chamber’s activities is the semi-annual visit to the Legislature in Montgomery which provides an opportunity for representatives of various businesses in Jackson County to meet with our legislators about the problems facing and the needs of the local business organizations. Our next Montgomery trip will be on March 20th and 21st and we urge all Jackson County business people to join us in making our legislators aware of the needs of our business community.”
The legislative trip is being presented by The Public Policy and Advocacy Initiative of the Gateway to the Future, the Chamber’s Five- Year Community and Economic Development Program. Total Resource Campaign sponsors are the City of Scottsboro and Owens Company South (Unclaimed Baggage Center).
Please call the Chamber office at 256-259-5500 or 800-259-5508 if you are interested in attending.
