Jackson County District One Commissioner Tim Guffey has announced his intent to run as Jackson County Commission Chairman candidate.

Guffey, a 49 year old Jackson County native attended Bryant Junior High, North Sand Mountain High School and Chattanooga State University. He previously served as a project manager for a mechanical contractor and is currently a small business owner.
Guffey and his wife of 29 years, Amy, have three children, Zac, Megan and Isaac. They also share one granddaughter, Riley and two daughters-in-law, Keisha and Jasmine.
Guffey says, “I have always loved Jackson County and want to see our county become even greater. The people of our county pay their fair share of taxes, but the funding isn’t coming back to our county as it should. I will continue the good work that we have started and will continue to build relationships with both state and local leaders to bring in additional funding for our roads and non profit organizations that have seen substantial funding cuts. I will continue to work to bring in new industry for higher paying jobs in our county. I want our children to have the opportunity to remain in Jackson County.”
The Primary Election will be held June 5, a run off will be held on July 17 if necessary and the General Election will be held on November 6, 2018.
