Who knew in 1988 when leaders in the Alabama Waterfowl Association, Inc. (AWA) decided to take on the project of raising 1,000 day old duckling to 4 weeks old, placing a band on the ducks and releasing most on Guntersville Lake and Wheeler Lake, that it would help make Alabama one of the most promising states for duck hunting?

A Chemical Applicators Workshop for professionals, hosted by the Jackson County Master Gardeners Association and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System will be held from 8:15 AM until 4:45 PM on January 8, 2019 at First United Methodist Fellowship Campus, 1105 S. Scott Street, Scottsboro, AL 35768.

The workshop is approved for professionals in the seven northeast counties of Jackson, Madison, Marshall, DeKalb, Morgan, Etowah, and Cherokee.
Workshop subjects being presented are:  
1. Entomology,
2. Plant Pathology,  
3. Pesticide Safety,
4. Turf Management,
5. Wildlife Pests, and
6. Record Keeping – update rules and regulations. Participants will earn 10 re-certification points to retain their applicators license.
