Fall Semester has arrived at Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC). Faculty and staff gathered for the annual In-Service meetings held August 15-16 in the Tom Bevill Lyceum. Employees were treated to refreshments each day and various merchants from Jackson and DeKalb counties set up in the lobby for shopping experiences during meeting breaks.

The Bellefonte Nuclear Plant is one of several agenda items listed for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Board meeting on Thursday, August 18. The public meeting will be at the TVA West Tower Auditorium, 400 W. Summit Hill Drive, Knoxville, Tenn.

The Scottsboro City Council passed Resolution 2011-08-33 last week in support of Goose Pond Plantation Pointe.
In recent weeks, in an attempt to save money, the Goose Pond Board discussed the idea of closing Plantation Pointe Golf Course four days a week and letting the lease go on the golf carts currently used, and go back to using the old golf carts.

Around 120 farmers visited North Alabama last week for the 2011 Alabama Farmers Federation Commodity Conference. The conference, held in North Alabama every third year, is designed to help farmers improve the profitability of farmer’s operations.
