The Section Lady Lions won the Class 2A Northeast regional tournament held in Jacksonville last week. With the win, the Lady Lions earned a trip to compete in the final four hosted in Birmingham this week.

In the first round of the Northeast regional tournament, Section defeated Woodland 51-49.

Taylor Adams led the way with a game-high 16 points. She also had 19 rebounds and five blocks.

Jordan McCarver finished with 14 points while Hannah Presley finished with 12 points.

In the championship game, Section defeated county rival North Sand Mountain, 51-41.

Adams finished with 22 points and nine rebounds while Presley finished with 11 points.

Keely Ellison finished with 12 points for the Lady Bison.

North Sand Mountain defeated Altamont in the first round of the tournament, 59-41. Ellison also led the Bison in scoring  in that game with 21 points.

In class 3A, the Pisgah Lady Eagles were defeated in the championship game by Madison Academy, 73-51. Dallas Gilley led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 16 points while Ella Denes added 10 points.

The Lady Eagles beat Hokes Bluff in the first round of the tournament, 78-73. Gilley scored 23 points and had nine rebounds. Kennedy Houser finished with 19 points and had 11 rebounds. Tesia Williams finished with 12 points.

In the class 1A girls tournament, Woodville was defeated by Gaston, 47-31 in the first round.

Baylee Webb led the Lady Panthers with 12 points. Emily Huston had eight points.

In the class 2A boys tournament, Section was defeated by Holy Family, 64-50 in the first round.

Chance McCarver finished with 25 points to lead Section in scoring.  Joseph Tipton had nine points.

NSM was defeated in the first round by Vincent, 67-45. Zak Walsh led the Bison in scoring with 14 points while Tyler Vann finished with eight points.
